Lab Manager
After growing up in Southern California, I moved to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2005 with a BA in Biological Basis of Behavior and spent the following two years working in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as a research assistant for the Pediatric Chronic Pain Clinic. In the future I intend to pursue a yet-to-be-determined graduate degree.
In my free time I love to read - some of my favorites being Harry Potter and Philippa Gregory novels, among others I find while spending hours in a bookstore. I also enjoy roller-blading, eating out (especially sushi), shopping, and cooking.
My interests lie in research that combines psychological and neurological aspects of disease. My previous work has ranged from basic bench science to clinical studies to experimental research. My main interests involve how attitudes toward pain and treatment affect an individual’s response, as well as how other life factors such as sleep and personality affect chronic pain prognosis. I am also interested in the research process as a whole, including the factors of a study that affect the outcome, data management, and study design.
I am currently working on the Post-Operative Pain Study with Dr. Ian Carroll and the Stanford Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Pain Program (SCIPP) study.
