Matt Gillespie
Undergraduate Research Assistant
I'm a junior majoring in Human Biology and minoring in Creative Writing. My degree is focused in cognitive science and neuropsychology, and in particular, I'm interested in the incredible amount of biological interplay that goes on inside our brains that somehow conspires to create who we are and what we know. I hope to go on to medical school after Stanford and am particularly interested in working in international healthcare.
I was born in Chicago and have lived in Palatine, IL for my entire life. Besides school/lab work, I'm a writing tutor at Stanford's writing center and I love all things outdoors, from running to hiking to biking to scuba diving - I also try to be an active creative writer, but this can be pretty hit or miss.
