Botox and Chronic Pain: A New Research Study
About the Study
We are inviting patients with chronic pain following surgery or injury to participate in a study to determine whether Botox injections result in pain relief. We are investigating how well this medication works for your pain, quality of life, and physical functioning. This study may lead to the development of new treatments to alleviate pain.
About your Participation
- Monthly visits over 4 to 20 months
- Brief daily follow-up with study team over the phone or through Palm Pilot provided by us
- Physician evaluations provided at no cost
- Study medications provided at no cost
- You are guaranteed to receive the Botox injection at some point during the study.
- You will also receive a placebo injection at some point during the study.
- Neither you nor your study physician will know which period has the active study drug versus the placebo.
- You will be compensated up to $300 for time and travel

Eligibility
- Age 18-100
- U.S. Citizen (or Green Card Permanent Resident)
- Must not be pregnant or trying to become pregnant
- Suffer from ongoing pain after surgery or injury
